Common questions

Don't see yours? Call 202-217-8990 and ask.

How much does a computer repair cost?

Fixing your computer is a $145 flat rate. Parts are extra: if your repair needs one, such as a new drive or screen, we tell you the exact cost before we start, and nothing is ordered until you approve it.

Are upgrades included in the $145?

No. The $145 covers fixing your computer. Upgrades, such as a faster SSD, more memory or a new computer setup, are priced separately, and we agree on the price with you before we start.

Is my old laptop worth fixing?

Often yes. An SSD upgrade or a cleanup can make an older computer feel new for a fraction of the cost of replacing it. If a repair costs more than the machine is worth, we'll tell you.

Do you repair Macs?

Yes. We work on MacBooks and iMacs as well as Windows laptops and desktops.

Will I lose my files?

Most repairs don't touch your files. If there's any risk, we'll tell you first and can back up your data before we start.

How long does a repair take?

Many software fixes are done the same day. Repairs that need parts take longer, depending on availability. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote.

Do you need my password?

Sometimes we need to sign in to test a repair. We'll ask in person or over the phone. Never put passwords in the drop-off form.
